Champ Bear Publishing was established to focus on high quality children's books. Interesting stories, usually with humor and rich, imaginative illustrations will mark all of our books. Champ Bear was founded by Glenn Shapiro, who is also the author of our first publication, "Sarah Walked to School". If you wondered where the name came from, Champ and Bear were Glenn's dogs for sixteen faithful years. To the right is a rendition of the two dogs by illustrator, Ben Quesnel. Note the two halos - which are also represented in the Champ Bear logo above. About the Author and Illustrator: Glenn has a passion for children's books and poetry, which he has been writing all of his life. Glenn lives in Longmeadow, Massachusetts; the town he was born and raised in. Some of his favorite children's authors are Shel Silverstein (The Giving Tree) and Bill Peet (The Wump World). For Sarah Walked to School, Glenn teamed with an accomplished artist, Ben Quesnel, as the illustrator. Ben has been recognized as one of the country's finest artists, winning a Congressional Art Award in 2006. He brought great imagination to the illustration process. He depicts people in a unique and interesting way. As you read the book, small clues to what is in store for Sarah can be seen in some illustrations. Buy Sarah Walked to School by clicking below. |
